Hello prospective Characters!

 Thank you for taking an interest in the open position for new performers! 

What we are searching for:  Erie based children’s entertainment company, Once Upon A Party, is on the search for new performers! This is the perfect way to add some sparkle to your life (and extra cash) while only working part time! You can live anywhere in the Erie and surrounding areas (Lawrence Park, Waterford, Harborcreek, McKean, Fairview, Millcreek).

If you have an eye for costume and make-up design, and a knack for making children smile, this may be your dream come true!

Who we are:  Once Upon A Party has been performing at events around Erie for six years. Our performers have performed at over 3000 birthday celebrations, park events, and special event visits.

You may have heard of someone performing at birthday parties before…and let me take a moment to say Once Upon A Party is a bit different. Our Part-Time Princesses facilitate customized parties for the families we are booked with.  That means, not every party will “flow” the same as the previous party.  Our stories, crafts, activities, and songs are tailored to fit the princess picked, but they are also unique to the party itself.  We strive to make each party interactive for all of the children involved with Q & A time, photos, dancing and more.

Job Description: Attend events as a whimsical character and perform, sing, dance, craft, and play games with some very excited little ones!

Each performance is between 30 to 120 minutes long, and as an employee, you are paid per performance.  As the company grows, there will be additional positions created and the Part-Time Characters will be the first choices for openings.

Families are hiring us for the quality of our parties and performers, so you would be joining a team of very strong, reliable, and experienced members.

Audition Process:  To become one of our performers, you’ll need to audition for the company.

To prepare for the audition, we recommend creating a one page resume with work experiences, practicing a song which showcases your range, and bringing any other information about your skills as a performer, artist, educator, or photographer to the audition.

If you rarely have free weekends, this may NOT be the job for you.  Most of our parties are booked Saturdays and Sundays, and although you may turn in dates in which you are unable to work, most weekends you must have a flexible schedule.

 You will also need to have two clearances completed before being able to travel to parties with us.

Requirements:  You must have  reliable transportation, as you may have to travel up to 90 minutes away for the event. (Assistants will almost always drive you to and from events)

You also MUST MUST MUST be punctual. Being on time (and even early) is more important than anything else. If this is a problem for you, do not apply.

Applicants are strongly recommended to have experience with theater, young children, music, glitter, and working independently.
